I initially started this site as a place for Ted to write, but he couldn’t really get into the idea of writing–he’s more of a reader and doer. So most of the posts have been written by me, unless otherwise noted. [bio coming soon]

I am a hunter and fisherman, and have been for as far back as I can remember. My dad first started letting me tag along with him in archery season and small game season when I was about 6 years old. My dad always had some kind of a boat that he, my mother, and I fished from. He and my brothers built a cabin in Forest County, PA that we spent most of our free time at when I was growing up, and that we still hunt deer and grouse from. Now my main hunting partner is my wife. We primarily muskie fish and deer hunt together, and I hunt pheasants and grouse with my springer spaniel Missy. My life in the outdoors and spending so much time exploring the woods and streams led me to my career as a biologist. I am a professor at a small university in western PA, and I do research on fish and aquatic invertebrates.
